  • Baba knows Optometry ie. Science of Eye examination as well as Herbalist

Baba knows Optometry ie. Science of Eye examination as well as Herbalist

Baba started practicing Herb medicine in the village, examined patients and gave medicines. He was always successful, and He became famous as a Hakim (Doctor).

A curious case may be narrated here.

One devotee got his eye balls quite red and swollen. No Doctor was available in Shirdi. The other devotees took him to Baba. Other Doctors would use ointments, Anjans, cow’s milk and camphorated drugs etc., in such cases. Baba’s remedy was quite unique. He pounded some ‘BEEBA’ (Some Carpus Ana Cardium i.e. marking nuts) and made two balls of them, thrust them on in each eye of the patient and wrapped a cloth-bandage round them (eyes). Next day, the bandage was removed and water was poured over them in a stream. The inflammation subsided and the pupils became white and clear. Though the eyes are very delicate, the BEEBA caused no smarting; but removed the disease of the eyes. Many such cases were cured and this is only an instance in point.

He charged no fees for His cures. He became renowned and famous by virtue of His merits. He gave health to many a poor and suffering person. This famous Doctor of doctors cared not for His interests. He always worked for the good and welfare of others. He suffered unbearable and terrible pain many a time in the process.

  • Sathya Narayana Poojah

    Sathya Narayana Poojah

People in the Maharashtra, India always celebrate God Satya-Narayana Puja in their homes every fortnight or month.

When they are suffering from any problem, they say, ‘I do Satya Narayana Pooja.’ After getting rid of the problem, they performed the Satya Narayana Puja.

In all Sai Baba Temples, Sai Satya-vrata Puja is performed instead of Satya Narayana Pooja. People choose to recite the Sai story. It was told in three figurative verses. These were from the book “Bhakta Liyamaruth” composed by Daskanu Maharaj.

Satya Narayana Puja will be held daily at 7 am and 9 am in Shirdi. At the end of the prayer, the priest reads the three stories in Marathi. He reads them on behalf of all the devotees present. Then the offering will be given.

If  you have time, please attend the Sai Satya Narayana puja, at Shirdi Mandir(RS.100 per couples), and also do monthly Pooja at your home in front of Satya Narayana picture and get Health, Wealth and Happiness

  • Baba uttered ‘hard words.’ Why?

Gadgi Bua, that is, a very poor saint. who was the owner of only a mud pot, had the ambition to build a grand edifice for charitable purposes and somehow destiny aided him in putting up a grand structure at Pandharpur.

(This reminds of George Muller’s powerful faith that enabled him to get nearly twenty millions of pounds voluntarily sent to him from time to time in the course of imany years to construct many children’s orphanages).

When Gadgi Buu started building his dharmasala at Nasik, the flow of monetary help stopped abruptly after he reached a limited success only in putting up a set of rooms.

Then he felt disgusted and thought that the best thing he could do was to approach a person like Sai Baba lor help. So he went to Shirdi and came to Baba.

At once Sai Baba uttered a lot of foul abuse, ‘hard words’ as Khaparde calls them. Gadgi Bua at once understood what they meant. It is not Gadgi Bua that Baba was abusing foully, but he was cursing away and driving away the bad fortune that hampered the progress of his work.

Gadgi Bua laughed at once and Baba also laughed at once. Gadgi Bua went back. His bad fortune had been driven away and money again came enabling him to build the dharmasala he had begun.

  • Muslim Devote Chote Khan

    Muslim Devote Chote Khan

In the fourth visit, Baba said to Imam Bhai Chote Khan of Vajapur, “Gulab” has come to your house.” Imam Bhai Chote Khan returned home. He learnt that his wife had recently delivered a male child. That must be the Gulab mentioned by Baba, and so the boy was named Gulab.

In 1936, Chote Khan was badly in need of money to get Gulab married. So he went to Baba and slept in the Mosque. In his dream, Baba blessed him and said, ‘If you go to Poona, you will be benefited’. So, he started off to Poona.

One Mr. Ladkar, suffering from severe piles, came to him. Chote Khan told him that he knew of a saint’s (Sai Baba’s) prescription that would cure piles. Ladkar said, ‘Give it’. Chote Khan then prepared the remedy, and that relieved the man greatly.

Ladkar went at once, and betting on horses at the races in Poona, got Rs. 1,100. Out of that, he gave Chote Khan Rs. 700, and with that money Gulab’s marriage was performed.
