  • Sign of the grace of the Guru, dawning uponĀ us.

Sign of the grace of the Guru, dawning uponĀ us.

When a man takes a plunge into the sea, he gets the merit of bathing in all the Tirthas and sacred rivers. Similarly when a man takes refuge at the feet of the Sad-guru, he gets the merit of bowing to the Trinity, i.e. Siva, Vishnu and Brahma (Gods ) and also Para-Brahma.

Victory be unto Shri Sai the wish-fulfilling tree and the ocean of knowledge, who gives us self-realisation.

ā€ Oh Sai, create in us regard for Your stories. viz.

    • let their bodies perspire,
    • let their eyes be full of tears,
    • let their prana be steady,
    • let their minds be composed,
    • let their hair stand on end,
    • let them cry, sob and shake,
    • let their hostilities and their distinctions, great and small vanish.ā€

If these things happen, that is a sign of the grace of the Guru dawning upon them. When these emotions develop in you, the Guru is most pleased and will certainly lead you on to the goal of self-realisation.

The best way, therefore, to get free from the shackles of Maya is our complete and whole-hearten surrender to Baba.

  • Four Sadhana for Four Ages

    Baba’s Stories as Beacon- Light:

    • Light houses are constructed at various places in the sea, to enable the boatmen to avoid rocks and dangers, and make them sail safely. Sai Baba’s stories serve a similar purpose in the ocean of worldly existence.
    • They surpass nectar in sweetness, and make our worldly path smooth and easy to traverse. Blessed are the stories of the saints.
    • When they enter our hearts through the ears, the body-consciousness or egoism vanishes. The sense of duality disappears. When they are stored in the heart, doubts fly out to all sides. Pride of the body will fall. Wisdom will be stored in abundance.
    • The description of Baba’s pure fame and hearing it with love will destroy the sins of the devotee. Therefore, this is the simple Sadhana for attaining salvation.
    • The Sadhana for
      • Krita Age was Shamadama (tranquility of mind and body); for
      • Treta Age, sacrifice; for
      • Dwapara, worship, ;and for
      • Kali (present) Age, it is singing of the name and glory of the Lord. This last Sadhana is open to all the people of the four varnas.
    • The other Sadhanas, viz. Yoga/Yagya (sacrifice), Dhyana (meditation) and Dharana (concentration) are very difficult to practice, but singing and hearing the stories and the glory of the Lord (Sai Baba) is very easy.
    • We have only to turn our attention towards them. The listening and singing of the (Baba’s) stories will remove the attachment to the senses and their objects, and will make the devotees dispassionate, and will ultimately lead them to self-realization.
    • With this end in view, Sai Baba made me or helped me[ie Hemapant] to write His stories. The devotees may now easily read and hear these stories of Sai Baba. While doing so, they can meditate on Him and His form. Thus, they attain devotion to Guru and God (Sai Baba). They also gain detachment and self-realization.
If any one prostrates before Sai and surrenders heart and soul to Him, then unsolicited, all the chief (Four) objects of life viz. Dharma (righteousness), Artha (wealth), Kama (Desire) and Moksha (Deliverance), are easily and unsolicitedly attained. SSSC Ch-6
  • Chant God’s Name

Realise the preciousness of the Diamond:

    Embodiments of Love!

Only when we realise the preciousness of the diamond will we take care to safeguard it. Likewise only when we are aware of the value of chanting the Lord’s name will we make the effort to practise it and benefit from it.

Not all realise the potency and efficacy of reciting the Lord’s name.

The first requisite is the purity of thought, word and deed. The name that is uttered by the tongue should be meditated upon by the mind. What is uttered and dwelt upon should be hailed by clapping the hands.

This threefold concentration on the Divine name – unity of mind, speech and action – purifies the heart and nourishes the feeling of devotion.

Better than recounting the qualities of the Lord, singing His glories or relating His exploits and teachings, the chanting of the name is supremely edifying.

  • Best course therefore for us is?

Blessed, Oh Sai, are Your Feet, blessed is Your remembrance and blessed is Your darshana which frees us from the bond of Karma.

Though Your Form is invisible to us now, still if the devotees believe in You, they get living experiences from You. By an invisible and subtle thread You draw Your devotees from far and near to Your Feet and embrace them like a kind and loving mother.

The devotees do not know where You are, but You so skillfully pull the wires that they ultimately realize that You are at their back to help and support them.

The intelligent, wise and learned folk fall into the pit of the samsar on account of their egoism, but You save, by Your power, the poor, simple and devout persons.

The best course therefore for us is to surrender our body, speech and mind to Your Feet and always chant Your name for destroying our sins.

You fulfill the wishes of the devotees and to those who are without any desire You give bliss supreme.

Chanting Your sweet name is the easiest sadhan for devotees. By this sadhan (means), our sins, Rajas and Tamas qualities will vanish, the Sattwa qualities and righteousness will gain predominance and along with this, discrimination, dispassion and knowledge will follow.

  • Benefits of Chanting God’s Name

From today harness the enthusiasm of youth for carrying to every street and alley, the glory of the Lord’s name! The entire atmosphere is surcharged with electro-magnetic waves. Because of the pollution of these waves, the hearts of human beings also get polluted. To purify this atmosphere, you have to chant the Lord’s name and sanctify the radio waves.

There is pollution in the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we consume. Our entire life has been polluted. All this has to be purified by suffusing the atmosphere with the Divine name. People admire the beauty of Nature, but are not aware of the beauty in their hearts. Make your heart beautiful by adorning it with the sacred love of God. Chant the name with joy in your hearts.

  • Sai Baba’s Declaration

    Sai Baba’s Declaration

Turning to Shama (Madhavrao Deshpande) Sai Baba said.
“If a man utters My name with love, I shall fulfill all his wishes, increase his devotion.

And if he sings earnestly My life and My deeds, him I shall beset in front and back and on all sides.

Those devotees, who are attached to Me, heart and soul, will naturally feel happiness, when they hear these stories.

Believe Me that if anybody sings My Leelas, I will give him infinite joy and everlasting contentment.

It is My special characteristic to free any person, who surrenders completely to Me, and who does worship Me faithfully, and who remembers Me, and meditates on Me constantly.

How can they be conscious of worldly objects and sensations, who utter My name, who worship Me, who think of My stories and My life and who thus always remember Me?

If My stories are listened to, all the diseases will be got rid of. So, hear My stories with respect; and think and meditate on them, assimilate them. This is the way of happiness and contentment.

The pride and egoism of My devotees will vanish, the mind of the hearers will be set at rest; and if it has wholehearted and complete faith, it will be one with Supreme Consciousness.

The simple remembrance of My name as ā€˜Sai, Sai’ will do away with sins of speech and hearing”.
